TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art

The charm of Naples and its excellence conquer the U.S.A., once again

During the last edition of TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art - an important and exclusive charity event sponsored by the Dallas Museum of Art and amfAR, one of the leading American organizations supporting research on HIV/AIDS - among the most desired prizes of those auctioned was an exclusive one-week vacation in the beauty and excellence that only Naples, Capri, and the Amalfi Coast can offer the world.

The context: TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art.

Designed by leading artists, art collectors and philanthropists from around the world, TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art has stepped on the international stage as one of the most significant charity events supporting the struggle against AIDS.

The week was full of social events, held at the Dallas Museum of Art and aims at recognizing and promoting the steady progress of the work conducted by amfAR, one of the leading American organizations supporting research on HIV/AIDS.

The event is highly sought for, and, especially throughout its gala dinner that welcomes 400 prominent guests from all over the world, it is able of raising a very substantial financial support to the cause thanks to the exclusive charity auction, which records renown contemporary art works and extremely unique luxury products every year.

Upon the 2010 edition, the auction was framed in the exceptional setting of the famous Rachofsky House designed by Richard Meier, and, during Saturday’s gala dinner, it was presented by auction firm Sotheby’s President, Jamie Niven, and was attended by remarkable celebrities as Alan Cumming, Shirley MacLaine, Liza Minnelli, Sharon Stone, Kenneth Cole, Sigourney Weaver, Barry Manilow, Dita Von  Teese, Stanley Tucci and Natasha Richardson. In addition, there were famous artists including April Gornik, Robert Rauschenberg, Ed Ruscha, Julian Schnabel, Joel Shapiro, Cecily Brown, Tom Friedman, Elizabet Pheyton, Jim Hodges and Peter Doig.

CESARE ATTOLINI and CANTIERI DI BAIA, as representatives of made-in-Naples’ excellence and of the exclusive Neapolitan lifestyle, have played the leading roles in the 2010 TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art.

The charity initiative on behalf of two among the world’s most famous Neapolitan business firms in the field of luxury goods, helps to keep the image of Naples and of the Campania region sky-high, confirming that they can still boast, despite the negative events conveyed by the media over the past few years, their great and distinctive charm on the U.S. and international audience.

It is no coincidence that one of the most coveted prizes in the auction dedicated to luxury goods, led by the auction firm Sotheby’s President, Jamie Niven, was the week offered by the brands Cesare Attolini, Cantieri di Baia, and Capri Palace Hotel & Spa, in order to enjoy the most enchanting and exclusive areas of Naples, Capri and the Amalfi Coast.

A unique holiday, featuring luxury lifestyle in Naples, that the four American guests will enjoy starting from upcoming June 2nd.

The program designed for them will be as follows:
- Arrival in Naples on June 1st.

- The following day, they will start their tour through the excellence of the landscape, arts, and products of Naples. The first step will be devoted to visiting one of the most enchanting places in the city, its most popular shrine of Neapolitan tailoring elegance: Cesare Attolini’s atelier on Via Filangieri.

The atmosphere there is characterized by the reigning harmonious blend of authentic crafts, history, and unique style, where they will be able to experience a real, fine, luxury experience.
An exclusive tour, which will be strictly reserved behind closed doors, receiving the complete attention of the firm’s skilled tailors and of its master Cesare Attolini himself, along with his sons Massimiliano and Giuseppe. The lucky guests will be given the unique opportunity to be taken measurements, in order to make handmade and personalized ensembles for the gentlemen: needless to say, the suit is characterized by Neapolitan-style unstructured jackets, perfectly in line with the tradition and style of the maison,  a shirt, and a tie.

The day will continue with a visit to the Cantieri di Baia led by the reliability and expertise of the firm’s owner Roy Capasso, representing the latest generation of the family management.
This is a unique place where they can see the authentic passion for crafts, the enthusiasm and the obsessive attention to every single detail that gives life to the work of skilled carpenters that the Neapolitan firm proudly employs. This is a meeting point of wisdom, tradition, creativity, and technological innovation, where research and experimentation on avant-garde materials are materialized in boats of unparalleled charm, made of sporty and distinctive lines, performance, versatility and comfort, linear elegance, and unparalleled luxury.

- The tour will end with a lunch at one of the most exclusive restaurants on the coast together with the Attolini and Capasso families.

Only later, the American guests will sail from the Bay for four days and three nights on board an extraordinary Bay Yacht, Baia Yacht, plowing the shimmering waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea and stopping at the immortal island of Capri and the most prestigious places of beauty and wellness that only the Amalfi Coast can offer, first of all the Positano cameo.
Four days during which they can enjoy the luxurious comfort of the Italia 70 Bay, admiring the beauty of the coastal landscape and its crystal clear sea. In addition, they will visit typical seaside villages, and enjoy the best of Neapolitan cuisine, by stopping every day for lunch and dinner at the most renown and finest restaurants on the Amalfi coast.

- Four days of vacation touring Italy on board 70 feet Italia, which will be followed by a three-day stay at the famous Capri Palace Hotel & Spa owned by Tonino Cacace.
